The African Raptor Centre

Creative Education

At the African Raptor Centre, education is at the heart of conservation. We believe that understanding leads to protection — and that every visitor, learner, and community member has a role to play in safeguarding Africa’s birds of prey.

Through interactive school programmes, guided tours, and public demonstrations, we bring people closer to raptors than ever before. Our lessons go beyond biology — they highlight the ecological importance of raptors as nature’s clean-up crew and indicators of ecosystem health.

Education initiatives also extend into local communities, fostering awareness about threats such as poisoning, habitat loss, and electrocution. By inspiring curiosity and compassion, we aim to build a future where people and raptors thrive side by side.
